The sound of Hardstyle is charteristic of the style and could best be described as thundering beats combined with magnificent sublime melodies.
Hardstyle is a combination of German, Italian and Dutch Hardhouse and Rave mixed with influences from Hardtrance and oldschool-hardcore. This style was created in Holland around 2000. Holland was the first country were hardstyle events were organized.
Dana van Dreven ( Lady Dana) has played a major part in the development of the style. At a later stage more of her colleagues from the hardcore era, the likes of Pavo, Darkraver, Luna, Zany and the Prophet followed her example
